This article was developed with the expectation of identifying the most required skills in public competitions for the position of Internal Control Analyst. The research variables were based on the definitions of Skills described by Flaury and Flaury (2001), as well as the classification of skills into Technical, Business and Social. The methodology developed was descriptive, using qualitative variables, through documentary analysis of public competition notices for the position of Internal Control Analyst published in the Northeast Region, between the period from 2013 to 2023. Data analysis revealed a preference by Technical Skills, followed by Business Skills, leaving Social Skills with the requirement of some specific skills linked to the attribution of commitment to collective learning. The results seek to continue the discussions on the research object analyzed in this study, seeking to contribute to an outline of the competencies necessary for the controller's profession, especially that of the public controller and other controllership professionals.
