Agronomic viability analysis in the organics systems of the associate production

Abstract

This article consists in a study about the performance of lettuce with beet associations, cultivated in four differents populations densities, under organic system of production. For that, was installed two experiments, one in the Serrana Middle Region and other in the Baixada Fluminense, both in the Rio de Janeiro. This was analyzed through four factors: Area Efficiency Index (IEA), Gross Profit (LB), Costs Cover Rate (TCC) and Gross Margin (MB). The lettuce with beet cultivation, in both of regions, show the Area Efficiency Index (IEA) higher than 1,0, for almost of all associations treatments, showing agronomic efficiency of the systems, because to make possible a greater utilization of the cultivated area. The lettuce cultivation show betters economics results in the monocultivation than in the associations treatments. But, in the beet case was show a substantial improvement in the economics index of monocultivation when with lettuce association. So the conclusion is that beet farmers can conjugate their farming in association with the lettuce cultivation.
